Susuhara Is A Demon!

Starting my very first post with a masterpiece. This is easily one of the most beautiful webtoons I’ve ever read, featuring incredibly realistic struggles and some badass characters.

The story follows the lives of two girls: Nao, who has just started university and has always lived under the pressure of being the “perfect girl”, and Susuhara, who, as the title suggests, is the demon.

Although the comic is set in a world with no magic or superpowers, the fight scenes are intense and never disappoint. I never imagined reading about female-only gangs could be this captivating. That said, some of the conflicts take a bit too long to resolve and since the webtoon updates roughly twice a month, sometimes it feels like the story is progressing way too slow.

But the quality definitely makes up for it. With 130 episodes so far, the comic has masterfully portrayed Nao’s identity crisis and her struggle to keep up appearances around her university friends. The slice-of-life elements really bring the characters to life and make the slow-burn romance even more satisfying. I’m especially looking forward to future episodes focusing more on Susuhara, who still remains a bit of a mystery.

The relation between the main two girls is really cute, they both share an interest for cafés and while this isn't much of a surprise in Nao's case, finding out that Susuhara out of all people likes cute things such as café merch is really entertaining. Their friendship is genuine and without any spoiler, the way they met was also very sweet.

In the end, this webtoon is an absolute must-read. It’s not just a “shojo-ai” comic, but a beautifully written emotional journey that sticks with you. 💜
